Iran Nuclear Plans Start New Calls for Sanctions

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/02/09/world/middleeast/09iran.html?scp=1&sq=Iran%20Nuclear%20Plans%20Start%20New%20Calls%20for%20Sanctions%20&st=cse
The article is concerned with Iran's recent move on its nuclear program calling for international cooperation in terms of stronger sanctions. Iran's nuclear program is one of the most contentious issues between Tehran and the west. Iran repeatedly asserts its right to a peaceful use of nuclear energy and rejects the western suspicions that it is actually seeking to build a nuclear weapon. The problem with Iran's enriching uranium up to 20 percent is that the technical leap required to get to 90 percent from 20 percent is relatively straightforward. And Uranium ,if enriched to 90 percent, can be easily used in a bomb.
Now to put new sanctions on Iran, the international community needs to work together. Sanction over Iran is also among one of the disagreements between China and the United States. If we did not have the UN security council, it would save Mrs. Hilary many efforts to enlist China into Iran's sanctions. At this point, we can see that IOs actually affect state's foreign policies. For the US and China need to work together over this issue, as Mrs. Clinton is expected to press the Saudis to reassure China that Saudi Arabia would offset any disruptions in oil shipments that could occur if Beijing were to back new United Nations sanctions against Iran. Ios actually provide an opportunity for states to cooperate over certain issues. Undoubtedly, China's decision on the new sanction can actually affect US-China relations.
